The manufacturer warranty on eyewear lenses covers coating defects such as peeling or cracking. Lenses are highly vulnerable to scratches and nicks, the warranty does not cover scratches on prescription lenses caused by everyday wear and tear.

Versatile innovative product with great quality and value

Overall I'm impressed with the quality, value, and versatility! Rx for progressives is great. I have astigmatism and nearsightedness. The frames fit well for my narrow face. The yellow is more subtle than the yellow clip on I have from Midwest red Light therapy company. I like this more subtle yellow as I want to use these for driving at night as well as daytime screen use. The only downside is that with the magnetic add on lenses they are a bit heavy and they slide down my nose when I bend over. A hair got between the magnet and the frame and the top lenses fell off one time when I bent over so I know now to be careful of that. It's great to have all the options with one set of frames, but it's also a compromise with the extra weight. So it may be worth it to get frames with the color of lens you need the most so you can wear that one without having to add the clip on. While it's neat to try the red lenses as I've never tried any before, I don't think I will use them much. I can't see well enough with them on to do many things so perhaps it's best to just go to bed at that point if I can! I am sure there will be circumstances where they could come in handy though. Overall it's a great product and the price is reasonable for what you get especially with the Rx. I'm impressed.

Regarding the Nighttime red lenses, it’s completely normal if they feel a little unusual at first. When we’re constantly exposed to artificial light, our retina can become less responsive, especially the photoreceptors responsible for night vision.

Wearing the nighttime lenses blocks the artificial lights and begins to retrain your retina. Most people start noticing an improvement in night vision within 1-2 weeks. For best results, I deeply encourage you to wear them 1-2hrs before bed, ideally when you're winding down. They’re designed to help your body shift into sleep mode, so if you start feeling sleepy while wearing them, that’s actually a great sign they’re doing their job.

The frame of my Alegria glasses does not conform to the magnetic clip-ons. This appears to be a manufacturing defect. The response from Viivarays has been very supportive and understanding. I am hopeful that the situation can be made better with a replacement.

We know that too much light into the eyes can be damaging. This is why your pupils have the ability to constrict (they get smaller, decreasing the amount of light reaching your retina) or to dilate (they get bigger, increasing the amount of light reaching your retina). Even if we don’t have the capacity to see UV light, there are special receptors in our eyes that can detect it. These receptors send feedback to our brain to help control the constriction/dilatation of the pupils. So when you are outside wearing prescription glasses or sunglasses that block UV light, your pupils lose their ability to constrict properly. After a while, your eyes become much more sensitive to sunlight because you don’t have the ability to properly constrict your pupils. 

After a couple of days where you gradually increase your exposure to natural sunlight with our UV transmitter lenses, your pupils will regain their ability to constrict in response to sunlight and your eyes will be able to tolerate natural sunlight as they should.
